Rehoboth Beach
has a plethora of accommodations. Here’s what you will find in Rehoboth Beach and the near vicinity, hotels and motels, inns, suites, resorts, bed & breakfasts, retreat houses, cottages, guest houses and condominiums. Hundreds of beach properties are available, not only in Rehoboth Beach, but in nearby Ocean City, Fenwick Island, Dewey Beach and Lewes. Hotels and motels come in a variety of price ranges, depending on the nearness to the beach and the amenities. Most all, however, come with spacious guest rooms, and the standard things such as outdoor pools, refrigerator, microwave and coffee makers in room, cable TV, free local calls, handicapped rooms and complimentary Continental breakfast. There are over a dozen bed & breakfast inns located in the town of Rehoboth Beach, and many more in the neighboring communities. Several are lovely old homes built in the late 1800s or early 1900s and feature things such as wood floors, period antiques, original artwork, large porches filled with wicker furniture, shade trees and hammocks, and always, a mouth-watering, delicious breakfast. Rehoboth Beach has a beautiful oceanfront, “on the boardwalk,” resort that offers guests high speed wireless internet, voice mail, an oceanfront pool, spa, Tiki Bar and seafood restaurant and bar on the premises.
Guesthouses are also sometimes referred to as “beach retreats.” An example of one in Rehoboth Beach is a classic 3-story turn-of-the-century beach house boasting 12 bedrooms. It is nestled in the heart of downtown Rehoboth Beach, just 1-1/2 blocks from the boardwalk and Atlantic Ocean. The house is open year round, with weekly rentals available Memorial Day weekend through mid-September. Beach houses and beach retreats are not operated as a bed & breakfast – they do not furnish meals and generally the whole house is available to guests. They can be new units, or, as in the case of one guest house located in downtown Rehoboth Beach, they can be a 1920s style beach bungalow (or older) with fine architectural details of the period. Many times, visitors who are planning a longer visit in the area prefer a guesthouse or “cottage” to a hotel or motel. Weekly rentals are also available in Rehoboth Beach in condominiums and townhouses.
If you like roughing it, you can also find campgrounds in the Rehoboth Beach area. The closest to Rehoboth Beach are the state parks in Cape Henlopen and the Delaware Seashore. All of the state park campgrounds provide drinking water outlets, modern shower and sanitary facilities, and sewage dumping stations. Campsites also include a picnic table and fire ring and many have electric and water hookups. Also, Big Oaks Family Campgrounds is just two and a half miles from Rehoboth Beach, and 3 Seasons RV Resort is just two and a half miles away. Sea Air Village Camping is located on Route One outside of Rehoboth Beach. During the summer season and in high-use areas like Delaware Seashore and Cape Henlopen State Parks, campers should register for the entire length of their stay, up to 14 days.
